If you live in council house you made it. Every Somali in your town knows you made it. But has anyone ever bought their council house under Right To Buy scheme? If you've lived in the house for over 3 years, you get a discount of up to a 100K and you are not allowed to sell your house within 5 years, if you do, you will have to pay some of the discount back.

Example of council house.

You can't buy a house if you have 10 kids on benefits and you're feeding another 20 in Somalia

I don't have any kids. Somalis need to learn to take advantage of the system legally not do silly benefit fraud. London is extremely expensive, this seems to be one of the few ways to the property ladder. I have learned many Somalis have moved out of London and euros have gone back to their countries due to high rent. They are not getting their leases renewed because landlords can get at least 33% more on a semi-detached. So if you are one of the few with council house you need to think your choices.

We bought our house like that. For £96,000 it was valued at £340,000. But you can't sell it in the first 5 years. Sister paid cash.

That one will go for 320K easy in London.

In the outer suburbs of London probably.

In parts of zone 1, a terrace/semi-terrace of that size would probably go for £900,000+ and it may be a leasehold too (100+yrs remaining).

You can buy one like that for 20k - 30k in certain parts of North England.

I highly doubt that anyone can get a house that size in even the dingiest parts of the north even taking to account shared ownership.

Those are new developments made by Barratt I know a few Somalis that got those too but a typical house looks like the one I posted.

House prices in London have grown to astronomical levels within the past two decades. It's only recently that prices have stabalised due to a number of variables namely brexit and SDLT rises (stamp duty land tax).
