I want to be a leftist, but leftists make it hard(senseless rambling)

It’s clear that fascism and far right ideology is taking over the western world, in particular the US.

The problem simply lies in the fact that leftism which is the antithesis of right wing hatred is completely dead in the west. It’s been infected.

I was invited to the communist party chapter at my university. And they’re talking about made up things like fatphobia and “polyamorous queer” relationships. Leftism has been so corrupted by identity politics and khaniisnimo it makes me sick. Any communist leader would have had these people put in prison or something.

The worst part is as black Muslims in the west, these are the closest things we have to allies. Since the other side simply wants us gone.

I do agree, but leftist spaces are vastly diverse

I would identify as a leftist/progressive but my focus is primarily the economy (the west needs to implement at least some socialism into the economy)

On social issues, my policy is that: if an action harms no one (including the person themselves) then idgaf. If someone wants to identify as anything, whatever that’s not my problem.

But if someone/an institution is e.g. misogynistic, racist, pedophillic etc that’s a problem as it does harm people’s lives

But @zesocialanimal don’t worry about identifying as anything, a specific branch of leftism or whatever. Just have your beliefs and stick to them. Labelling stuff as complex as politics is dumb anyways. I promise you’ll find likeminded people who think of progressivism in the same way as you. There’s a Marxist-Muslim YouTuber who you may like, since it’s a blend of what you believe in

It is best to not attach yourself to an arbitrary politcal label that is placed on a spectrum where the meanings of both ends change like the wind depending on the wider political environment. You will likely share political beliefs of different sides for different situations and thats ok.

Thats what I was thinking, it seems that our political beliefs have no labels in the west.

My worry is that with the political polarization that’s going on we’ll be forced to choose allies, Muslims cannot stand alone or we’ll be crushed.

I don’t know what country you’re from walaal, but in America things are getting ridiculous. We have a borderline fascist president that’s hell bent on bringing back 100 percent cadaan control of the nation.

If they come for us, who will we stand with? Will we be forced to abandon our morals for survival? Many questions
