Ilhan Omar has 35x as many followers than Ahmed Hussein (3 million vs 90k), she may not be a cabinet minister but she is way more known and has the potential to be very big in American politics. I doubt most Canadian somalis even know who Ahmed hussein is.
As I said earlier, Ilhan is way more popular and known than Ahmed Hussen.
But Ahmed Hussen’s job is more important.

If someone who is a Democrat and liberal run against her in that district, she would be easily defeated. She needs a challenger in the primary. The problem has been her opponents have been Repubicans. In the 5th district, it is 70% liberal, meaning no Republican can win in that district.

You seem to think that democrats/liberals hate her, but there is no proof of that. The republicans/conservatives don’t like her for reasons that make democrats/liberals love her. She is highly liked in her district and nobody can take her seat.
With America moving more and more to the left due to demographics, Ilhan is a lock-in to be a future senator, maybe even something bigger.
Progressives are the future of America, and already Ilhan is already a big part of that clique.
this is a common view but it's built on the shaky premise that brown people = democrat votes. what's happening is the Hispanicization of the US. I know other immigrant groups are coming in as well but the big picture demographically is Hispanicization.
Latin America definitely isn't Saudi or Pakistan... it's liberal compared to the conservative Muslim countries but the people are more socially conservative than the people in the US....
what the leftists are doing is they are alienating the socially conservative Hispanic population with "woke" stuff. it's not for sure either way whether importing masses of Latin Americans is going to work out for the leftists in the end. I think they've lost and will lose a lot of that demographic because I don't think they're willing to tone down the "wokeism".

The issue I have with Somali politicians in the West is the lgbt crap. You can tell it’s so fake and they know it’s against their religion but still have to conform.

My understanding is she barely beat him. She is a polarizing figure, and I can only hope her district had enough of her. Hopefully, she'll be thrown out in the midterms 2022.
