Have you seen muslims show solidarity towards Somalis?

It seems one-sided if you ask me. Somalis are the first to show support towards Palestinians and other muslims when they get fucked, but I've never heard (or seen) other muslims talk about Somali famine, natural disaster or refugees and their plight.

You care about other people only as much as they care about you, not more or less, otherwise I don't think you respect yourself.

Earlier this year, our local mosque (mostly arab) did a fundraising event for Somalia.

In my experience the muslim world doesn't show a lot of support. Because we don't ask for it. We live in a shame culture to the point that some of us attack people that try to help out for pointing out the bad parts of our country.

I think it is this way because we don't put trust in to foreigners, however the people back home have no issue hosting refugees temporarily or permanent.

That’s because WE f*ck EACH OTHER UP.

Palestinians are being oppressed by a foreign nation.

CEEBTA JOOJIYA. How are you going to stand there with a straight face as a Somali and ask for support when it’s your brother that’s hurting you. Are you not embarrassed? Are you not ashamed?

See plenty of solidarity in the amount of aid being sent to Somalia from Muslim charities.

What you see in Twitter doesn't define the Ummah.

Yh we got a lot of support, non-Muslims too
hell no, blm turned their back on the somali community. they were literally saying it wasnt their issue at the time. Also they were nowhere to be found when the young somali man died in police custody in cardiff. A whole issue they are supposed to be at the forefront of.

What are you talking about.

So many prominent Blacks in the UK and even the US talked about Shukri Abdi.

Even Ice Cube was involved.

What about Yemen, what about Syria ? Should we show support when they are hurting each other aswell? Should we support them when they have terrorists and droughts just like us ? From social media and advertisements on my tv I’m supposed to care about them because I’m a Muslim

We do get it. What are you talking about specifically?
I’m talking about the guys point above saying we should feel embarrassed for asking for support when it’s our own brother that’s hurting us, we should not have this mentality it’s hypocritical
