Nah mate just that bold bit of your quote “it also serves as a financial security blanket for her in case of divorce or the husband's death”what you on about mate? you saying Mehr is not part of Islam??
oh that. That part is just reasons why it makes sense and it is correct if anything happens she has something to rely on and sustain her self with especially back in those days where they depended on Men.Nah mate just that bold bit of your quote “it also serves as a financial security blanket for her in case of divorce or the husband's death”
It doesn’t make sense because a unmarried woman will always have a man who will take care of her whether it be her father, son, brother , uncle or the stateoh that. That part is just reasons why it makes sense and it is correct if anything happens she has something to rely on and sustain her self with especially back in those days where they depended on Men.
somali women arent as materialistic as other women. and somali marriage usually isnt as expensive as other muslim communities. but we dont have a matchmaking culture which causes too much singleness when we move to western individualistic societies. My point is, in Europe a lot of Somali men are in low paid jobs and have no problems marrying. It’s as simple as that.
