I've never met a Harari with a Somali name. I've met Harari who told me their Somali clans (mostly from nearby tribes of Darod, Isaaqs & Babile Hawiye).
Majority of those Muslim groups in Ethiopia claim some link to Somali sheikhs. Somali ulema were responsible for spreading Dawah in the Horn. Also, Harar wasn’t even established until the Middle Ages. Harla were a tribe and in one source possibly a small enclave. It came under Adal later. Once you start looking into the lineages of walashma rulers and “Arab sheikhs”, you will realise it all goes back to zaylici or Jabarta lineages, essentially the first major Islamic sites, who then spread Islam into “Ethiopia”.

No hate to hararis but its kind of funny how this theory of this mythical ethio-semetic islamic civilization was constructed based off the presence of hararis/gurages/agrobbas groups who's combined pouplation isn't even equal to 1/10th of the total Somali pouplation.
Also, some of these groups like Silte claim descent from sheikhs who came during Ahmed Gurey times. I do believe there was Semitic Muslims in Awfat sultanate etc; however, Somalis were the traders and ulema who facilitated large part of the islamification of the Eastern/South Eastern of what is now referred to as Ethiopia. This is why a lot of the scholarly saints revered in Ethiopia like Hussein Bali have Aqeeli lineages or Jabart lineages, common amongst scholars who came from Somali regions. It is not by accident the nisbah like Jabart and Zeili became popular in the Muslim world to describe horn African Muslims; Jabart/Zeila were some of the earliest settlements of Islam and produced many great scholars/traders. Some arab sources even describe Bari as being connected with Adal, even Muqdisho had relations.
Therefore, the nonsense this kid spouted about Somalis being nomads and not having settlements is a load of rubbish. I don’t bother with these types anymore because they are 10 years behind research and are here to troll.
The excavations in Harla sites show similarity with the sites in Waqooyi, which simply shows the buildings and trade were facilitated by Harla being incorporated into the sultanate of Adal. Somalis were involved in the creation of some of largest urban sites in the Horn. You simply can’t have scholars like Al zaylici becoming a giant in the Hanafi school of thought if all Somalis were just nomads with no conceived notion of settlement or literature. Somalis scholars had riwaqs reserved for them across the Muslim word. This all requires a level of urbanisation and civilisation in their towns cities back home.
The whole thing about Yemeni sheikhs spreading Islam into much of Somalia and Ethiopia seems to have become deeply engrained in popular culture. IMO seems like Somali scholars had more impact on Yemen than they had on us. Scholars of Somali origin founded cities in Yemen, have laws named after them, and they were also trusted advisors of dynasties like the Rashid dynasty.

The Harari are the western Benadiri equivalent, they have their fair share of hotep trolls too. The argument that Hararis were Ethio-Semites descended from a Harla fusion with Arabs who dominated northern Somalia is just like the Benadiri claim that southern Somalia was dominated by Himyarite Arabs who mixed with Tunni and God knows what else. Atleast with Somalis the genetical and geograhical evidence of our presence is consistent and its also consistent with most of our oral history, we Somalis do not believe we came to East Africa by trade or by conquest, with the exception of a few Ana Arab tales across all clans, the vast majority are cognizant of their native birthright to the land, it is the Harari or Benadiri who boast of their foreign admixture, you can't have your cake and eat it. Either you are a pure native inbred or a foreign settler.
Also, it seems bizarre that these two groups have no way to substantiate their claims except by a trinity-like oral explanation of their arrival and dissapearance. For two groups majorly connected with foreign migrants its bizarre the many countless Arab, Chinese, Indian and European explorers of the region in the last 2 millenia have complimented only Somalis aka Berber in their way of life, their wealth in camel procurement, their marine skills, their knowledge of medicine, their religious influence in neighbouring countries like Yemen, their fighting ability against big rivals like the Abyssinians etc.
The bitterness from these minority groups is that they did not become like the Europeans who settled in Australia or the US and overtime declared it their natural kingdoms over the aborigines. Instead, they were to remain as minorities, descended largely from foreign migrants escaping war and poverty from anywhere between Andalus to Sind etc. Some of these guys were even descended from criminals evading justice, so ofcourse they will larp as influencers to hide their ignobility.

All that being said, i believe these minority groups were good people and deservedly remained in our midst for good measure as an act of charity and the need for some diversity in the gene pool and trade contribution. It is only a minority amongst them who have an cuqdad against Somalis, as many Italian observations had shown, a large proportion of Benadiri have local Somali origin, it is therefore the same case with Hararis. Harar being an ancient Somali capital until Somalis were forcibly removed during the Menelik era is enough to tell you how important that town was to our ethnogenesis.
It does not matter if "Somali" Patriarchs are buried in Somalia, it is not proof they were Somali or from Somalia. How many of the Prophets, companions or well known figures were buried in countries, such as Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran and even as far as China etc. Does this make them Ethiopian, Iraqi or Irani etc. This happens everywhere. Yes, you have an oral tradition originating from the North because the you assimilated the Harla people
Well, If you use 5 different companies to do 5 different DNA Test and they each give you different results. They are not reliable. I have seen multiple youtuber's do multiple DNA test and they end up saying they "feel" this or that companies DNA test seems more accurate. I mean different results and feeling something is right is not accurate. What do you mean by 90 year old dude?

I'm was just responding to other clarifying the Harla is not somali. They were there own Ethnic group. Yes, Somalis schoalrs did spready Islam all through East Africa, this is true.
As for the Harla they were the Hararis of old and there ancestors who have a non somali origin.
The Somalis assimilated the Darods and the Sheikhaal who were originally Harla/Harari peoples.
A post from a Somali on the fb. He even says Darod are not somali and sheikhaal are not somali, but all assimilated. The only missing thing is that they were Harla. But, it clarifies Darod and Sheikhaal were assimilated. He seems to have a bit more common sense and is honest.
In the case of Darods wife:
1.) She may have been a full Harla woman. Since both the Dir and Hawiye claim her and I have seen other articles saying her origins are unknown.
2.) She may have been a Dir or Harla mix who married Shaykh Darod. Shaykh Darods descendent were Harla afterwards since his children married into the Harla people. A few hundred years later, the Dir and Hawiye tribes absorbed these Darod Harla peoples who ended up being the Somali Darods we see today.

If you know anything of titles in arabic. A persons name usually added there oirgin (city, country), then there lineage or tribe.
For example Shaykh Abdulqadir al-Jilani al-Hassani. This means Shaykh Abdulqadir from the land or city of Jilan, whos family/lineage was a Hassani.
