It always amuses me how the reer Koonfur people go through the pathetic ritual of fake celebrating a day that has zero to do with them.

In Somaliland, the 1st July is just another day....

Maybe you should go to Hargeisa and tell them. Sspot members can take bets on how long you stay alive.

You should stick to celebrating 18th May, the day the secessionist state declared its treasonous existence. It makes more sense that way.

Mashallah British Somaliland people were more patriotic somaliweynists than Italian Somaliland but we shall carry on their cause till it’s realised inshallah!

Also I can raise my flag in many parts of SL. I didn’t know Hargeisa was the only city you had, good to know :lolbron:

But correction the flag was first hoisted in Iskushuban district in Bari

I’m aware it was raised there but wasn’t Bari still under colonial rule till 1st of July?

The distinction is always that it was first raised in Bari but that it was first raised in free Somali territory in Hargeisa

Thats the general consensus, some Northerners though believe they were the first to see the blue flag hoisted.
