Dreams are cool. I used to pass the time in daydreams. It mostly involved no females. World domination, super highways in somalia, first wakanda country, tons of African foreign students studying in Somalia for free and being trained in our high tech advanced Somali universities. Taking a bullet train from Kismayo and Get off at Hargeisa terminals noontime crossing the countryside and the changing landscapes for hours. Visiting history of somali museums in the country that showcase somali kingdoms. Posted notes would include of the days Somalis sent first African ambassador to china in the 1400s during the Ajuran kingdom, when they owned gold mines in mozambique, ruled the indian ocean and its trade routes, the defeat of christopher columbus's cousin by the somalis at the same time Chris was plundering Native americans claiming he found America whilst somalis were defeating his country's navy in battles.

These used to be my dreams. No Kidding. They happened during train rides or bus trips for work/college. With some cool songs playing in my cheap headset.

Hence, why it was a dream. Not in my life time but I hope somewhere in the bellies of centuries to come, Somalis will have achieved success in cohesion and chosen "Somali" as the Only tribe that matters instead of meaningless sub families who feud over a sac of rice.

What is the actual point of somali tribes? Are we trying to prove something to each other?

Sorry to burst your bubble but that's a tranny

breh, are you sure about that? this reminds me of my cadaan coworkers who used to mess with me and test my ability to identify white females. They would show me models who are tranny mixed in the pictures of other models. Made a mistake twice in the choice and they had a blast telling me I would have picked a dude for a date. f*ck! I refused to entertain them after that mother fuckers. But they had a blast on my behalf.

Now, are you freaking sure this is not a female? She looks 100% female.

There is good use for clans in advancing Somali causes. There is no use for clan when it hurts the same Somali causes. Simple.

If you read our history, the tribes and calling for help from other tribes when in trouble saved our butt too often. That is tribes used correctly. The last 40 years Somalis were using tribe for the wrong reasons and to destroy each other. So the corruption of the somali character changed the value of tribes.

Something postive can be turned into negative always and that is the issue with tribalism today. It ruined the tribes themselves. The irony.

Old school is where it’s at, what do you guys know about this

Some of the lyrics are similar to Cilmi Boodhari's laments about Hodan in his poetry. You do know Cilmi was our equivalent Romeo and Hodan to be Juliet? Famous somali love-birds from the North. Somalis are hardy so they looked down on expressive love sentiments. But Cilmi wasn't having it and made his love for Hodan clear in poetry. His family tried to bring to him the beauties of their clan for him to choose from so he could forget about Hodan. Instead of accepting the offer and the girls in front of him, he composed a poem expressing his objection to the offer and the reasons for it. Simply stating the beautiful girls from his clan weren't equal in beauty to Hodan's. From the poem, it seemed these girls exposed their body to showcase their beauty, like their firm breasts etc and in the poem he says " Hablayhow in aan eebbahay idin qatalin, qariya laabtiina" which interprets into "oh women, let god not judge you, hide your breasts".

His poems:

At times I made light of it
And I was free.
Then suddenly I was shown her in a vision
And she was radiant in hue, like a lighted lantern.
Surely she must have been imprinted on my heart
How else could I be so intoxicated with her?
Inside my breast she tick-tocks to me like a watch
At night when I sleep she comes to sport with me
But at early dawn she leaves
At turns into a rising pillar of dust
(A Vision - Cilmi Boodhari)
