You know the funny thing, jiron, the raxanwayn clan, used to live in gedo, but they got removed by siyad barre(AUN).
thats where being nice and a good citizen got you.
There’s absolutely no need to reference the past or else we would forever be in perpetual chaos. In order to move forward, in order to bring change to our people and a brighter future for our children then we have to make the difficult decision to be an individual rather than a collective group.
It’s so easy for us in the west to fan the qabyaalad flame and use “we” when speaking about events that happened back home.
But here’s the thing, almost all of us online live in comfortable homes with air condition and a heater during the cold of winter. We have jobs to make a living and cars to drive to anywhere of our choice. We have access to healthcare and we take part in our local politics. We depend on the justice system and look forward to using the laws of the land against anyone who violate our rights.
Yet we suddenly get amnesia as soon as we log in Sspot. We beat the drums of war that we will not take part in, we fight and exchange insults until the sun comes up about why our adeer is stronger then ur adeer.
Then like clockwork, we log off, go to bed, go to work, decide where and what to eat for lunch since the choices are endless, drive home after work. Repeat the process.
My whole point is, none of us are directly effected by what happens back home but our families and our people are. Let us instead think of the bigger picture, the end goal and help each other help our people enjoy life like we do
