He built 30 paved roads in Garowe, not a city in Somalia has as many roads. The whole city has a digital town-plan, any development has to go through land management department so the town will always be town-planned.

I saw your video on rooble and his qardho development, it's a shame true wadanis don't survive in Somalia and the corrupt enjoy power. The dude has less revenues then galkacyo n bosaso and still developed faster then them.

@bidenkulaha the way he operated the garowe mayor was smart. He went to Development partners and promising that the local government will co-pay in the development a 'percentage' and the international partners play their role. This shows your 'serious' not just 'talking' or 'meetings'

@bidenkulaha If he runs for president of puntland, he can show his honesty to international partners on development using his mayor credentials, this will mean bigger projects for Puntland, especially when he goes to them and says he will ensure PL govt will co-pay it's percentage. We lost that great german road project for galkacyo to garowe becuz of corruption, that sort of shit would never happen under his watch. Now I bet u we will get useless presidents n mayors and no development partner will trust.

It’s because most FGS leaders don’t come from the ground up. They get appointed and to do that you need connections (ie be corrupt).

You’re right that it should be someone local and they work their way up. Even though China is a dictatorship that’s the system they use. High performing councillors are promoted to the top of government.

Even in America their usually governors first the one's who run for presidency, it's always ground up first, so ppl can see what u did at the local level. Somalia would be so much better, if we said only 'mayors' can run for regional presidents and only regional president can run for SFG. This would mean each district at mayor level will have to get their act together and every regional president would also.

Imagine every former mayor competing for the presidency at the regional level. All parties in PL can then look at who is the best functioning town and mayor and use him as their party leader.

Imagine every regional president then running for SFG president, then all somalia can select the best regional president performance. This now looks like a functioning nation selecting the best from it's regions and cities who can use their previous experience as proof to Somalis and international partners. It would lead to real competition now.

But no, Somalis prefer to listen to some random people who speak nonsense

Only clan who would hate this system of mayors run for regional presidency and regional presidents run for SFG president is Marehan, their towns are totally behind in everything, kama soo bixi lahayn nidaamkani. We want a proper nidaam to assess leaders, not hebel hebel talk and empty promises.

Let them go start as a 'mayor' build up a profile locally, then go run for regional president among other mayors in your region. Finally if he wins that, he will be in a race for presidency at the SFG level with other regional presidents. Now we can select who did the best work at mayor level or regional president level and hand him the SFG power. Even hamar ppl would love a proper president with proper mayor or regional president performance.

The great thing about this system of mayors n regional president ladder, you start at the bottom first and work your way up thru regional president and then sfg president. Plus it would be purely based on what you 'did' for your town or region while you were in power, not how advanced your state is. U show us what u inherited and where u left it, that's the only measurement we want to hear when we assess leaders.

Some mayors n regional presidents have done more work in their region then advanced states who could be in a 'corruption' triangle and not progessing.
