Their Main Objective was to displace Ogadens from all of Jubaland. When that was not possible they tried to prevent Ogadens from setting up shops in Kismayo and taking over key administrative posts in the town. When British Kar soldiers used to leave the town they would always come across an Ogaden Ambush laying for them outside.

That is why they rarely left the town without heavy security because Ogaden controlled anything outside of that area. Commissioner Jenner’s killing is an example. Ogaden was in control of the land and prevented British colonization.

The British were only able to claim Jubaland on the maps and not on the grounds! before independence they handed it over to the Italians after their failed attempts of occupation, and even the Italians couldn’t go past kismayo town as well!
