Ik the second picture was blurry so I'll sum it up he basically wanted to unite Ethiopia Somalia Eritrea Yemen and Djibouti into one mega country that was communist. The reasoning behind this was that the communist countries would gain a big advantage in the cold war by having a country like that in Africa and Asia. The reason why this didn't work out is because Ethiopia and Somalia refused to help each other.

The cuban involvement in Ethiopia was their largest and only joint operation with the USSR. 15,000 troops along with thousands of Russian field operators and generals assisting the badly beaten Ethiopian army.
