I don't believe the extortion that happens in places like xamar is related to AS. At least not all cases because there could easily be local gangs using the name and aura of AS to blackmail people. If I had to guess I'd say at least 1/3 of extortion cases are from local thugs simply pretending to be AS while the rest is AS.
