We need ACP's, Drones and decent firearms the most but what we REALLY need to put most of our funding into is skilled forces that can take out and uproot insurgents as well as a strong and terrifying intelligence force if we do all this by 1- or 2-years al-Shabaab will be gone and from there we just focus on passive development. there is no need to buy advanced weaponry rn we just need stuff that's most effective against these al shabaab insurgents since they should be our top priority.

Afghan government is more comparable to siad barre's government that had all the weaponry but couldn't get the majority on his side
I believe the Afghan army collapsed because when they were running out of ammo and other logistics the corrupt Afghan gov failed to support them. Also, soldiers salaries were not paid. So the troops said f*ck it, we ain't fighting and dying for this corrupt government and left their posts.
I also think same thing happened to the Iraqi army when ISIS took over Anbar province as well as Sunnis feelings disenfranchised by the ruling Shia gov.

The point i am making is that whoever has the support of the majority of the population will inevitably win e.g the taliban, the current government of Somalia and the various rebel factions of the civil war
I hate the Kacaan, but it was able to stay in power for multiple decades before it was overthrown. And it maintained its control without the presence of foreign troops
Compare that to the previous government of Afganistan who only was able to maintain control of the country due to America’s presence. Once the US left the government lost control of the country
I don’t think the current Somali government is as unpopular as the previous Afgani government, so it’ll definitely have more local support in fighting Al-Shabaab if the foreign troops left
But if you had to make a comparison I’d say that the current Somali government is closer to the Afghanistan government that was recently toppled, than it is to the Kacaan

Somali politics and religion will always be nothing more then empty faith and they think faith means facts lol go try and pray for peace for 30 years do u see peace?
