I’m starting to warm up to the idea of federalism nowadays as before I thought why the f*ck would a country as ethnically homogeneous as Somalia implement such a mode of government to run a country. Even back then, xamar was developed by abgaal and maraxaan. All of the big business men who’s name rang bells were from those clans. Just look at the leadership of the SYL and the ruling political and business class in Somalia from 1960 to 1969. Also the richest man in Somalia was from PL. In hindsight, the biggest mistake they made was putting all of their efforts in mogadisho.

Yeah, no cap, aside from the security issues, no Somali can argue against the fact that Xamar is still the greatest Somali city by every metric. Even when I ask relatives and friends who live in SL and PL they are real about it when I ask which Somali city is the best; you will always hear "Xamar" with Hargeyso usually being the number 2.

This is due to the fact there are so many mudulood politicians in the circuit and
they've got aspirations and funds. Money corrupts people and mudulood individuals are offered various amounts just to be onside by nn because nothing moves without us in the capital of somalia.

No because those states care about federalism more then most so they put effort in. Other states couldn’t care. E.g abgaal heavily invest in banadir rather than hirshabelle. No I’m not Isaaq, but other than begging the world for recognition, I have a lot of respect for them for building their own state and taking care of their own people. Look at gedo or Galgadud in comparison, what has farmajo done for his regions even before he was president.
