Why Some People still stick to Centralism!,we had Civil war, many people died and still people saying Centralism is good?. Those saying we are Centralism fans, let them show us prove on the ground in their areas. Reality Says PL is more better than 1991. Any Puntlander will say federalism cause each PL village have education, work, food,airports, ports, security..etc. Before 1991 we use to have to go to Xamar for education, work, Xamar airport was the only International Airport across Somalia.

Swiss implement Federalism. Their country size is smaller then Somalia but see how they life.

Although I'm not a big fan of federalism I still think it's our best bet. Centralism is a thing of the past. Having said that, I think Somalis do not know what federalism is. From Puntland point of view, federalism is a very good thing. Because in the past if you were from Bosaso or Hargaysa then you had to travel to Xamar for education or medical care. Now Garowe iyo Hargaysa have institutions and facilities they need to function. But in the past Mogadishu was Somalia, that's why people suffered alot during the civil war because when the USC forces ransacked the capital the whole country suffered. But if reer Mogadishu go ape shit and burn down the capital today, then Garowe, Bosaso, and Hargaysa won't be effected. They will go on as if nothing happened. That's the benefits of federalism in a place like Puntland.

if we are being honest with each other. the idea of federalism in the political sphere in the early 50's is not strange. since there where sultanates before the europeans. hence why an idea as federalism could work. a political party from the majerteen suggests federalism, this sounds legit to me since we have had two functioning modern goverments before the italians and the brits showed up.

if we want a functioning system we ought to look at our past and draw inspiration from it.

every region that succesfully governed itself before the europeans and after the civil war becomes semi autonomous. while the remaining regions fall under the federal goverment.

where we have an routinly ceremonial boqor and autonomous regions and a federal council with an prime minister that control the goverment tasks that don't fall under the autonomous regions such as foreign policy and the army. the council is made up from autonomous ministers and an elected prime minster. and to close the deal there must be an anti corruption agency that oversees everyting publicly.
