so you agree to centralize Somalia if the FGS become strong and stable

I do not know what the solution is but I think these federal states as they are is not the future.

I support them now, because they allow for pockets of safety in a turbulent country but I cannot support them as a long-term solution in a stable Somalia.

Maybe having a central government but with provincial governments in each province (Ex: Mudug) is the future.

We also need to make sure that political parties cannot be clan affiliated whatsoever and cannot campaign on clan issues.

However, this is all for when Somalia deals with its demons, which is not right now.

Federalism is the best thing that happened to Somalia. Now millions of Somalis don’t have to worry about being ruled by one “president” based in the capital because they can participate politically.
These guys dont understand that. What they want is pre siad barre somalia 1960 till 1969. But that will never happen again. Nobody trusts eachother anymore. Lets say the fgs gets stable. Who is gonna tell these other federal states to put their guns down and allow somalia army in their land. You really think PL/JL will dismantle their military to allow some elai soldiers to walk in their lands with guns :mjlol:

Yeah they still have federalism. There is nothing wrong with federalism.
federalism in a country with clan affiliation is a disaster.

how will the government deal with one state if others wouldn't listen to them because they are from different qabil.

people will choose their representative just because he is from their qabil not because he is a capable person.

It works to maintain stability during crisis but it does not work long-term.

It ends up entrenching divisions rather than dealing with them.

People on this thread have talked about Somalis not trusting each other, in which I would respond that the federal system as it is atm, will never really allow for proper reconciliation. It is way of getting around a problem rather than ultimately fixing it.

Just my opinion tho.

By voting. Federalism is good. No way in hell are we ever going back to one clan dictatorship.

My friend, I am a reformed qabiilist.

Now, I just want unity in Somalia and have started too see things clearly.

But sometimes, the qabiilism creeps up on you...

Akhi, Centralism or sticking together is not in the Quran. I want balkanisation, forget federalism.
Whoever comes to you and while you are all united, and wants to split your stick or disperse your group, then strike his neck, whoever he is.”

That's good I 100% support it. What does that have to do with federalism.
I see federalism as temporary but still, we must kill tribalism. after that, the next generation will not have qabil and will naturally move to centralize not based on clans but based on different political parties with capable people.

but let federalism stay while tribalism stay too no this will lead to confederation eventually

Even if clan goes federalism should stay. You can have political parties like every other federal country right now.

This has nothing to do with qabil but rather authoritarian vs decentral power structures.
