The combined population of Puntland and Jubaland is 3.58 million. The combined population of Banadir, Hiirshabelle and Galmudug is 3.55 million. So they are roughly equal.

PL/JL have 11 and 8 seats adding up to 19 seats total. Hiirshabelle and Galmudug have 8 seats each adding up to 16 seats total. Giving Banadir 13 seats would raise this to 29 seats total for Banadir, Hiirshabelle and Galmudug.

How can two groups with equivalent population have a difference of 10 seats in the upper house? Why should I accept permanent unconstitutional Hawiye overrepresentation just so that Farmaajo gets a second term?

Where are you getting your stats? According to UN Banaadir alone has well over 3 million ppl in 2021.


And if HirShabelle and Galmudug are added its closer to 5million ppl. Im sure the FGS in Banaadir knows these facts. Hawiye is by far the most populous group in Somalia. Hence why we will get the most seats in upper house and inshAllah soon in lower house aswell, no more 4.5 affirmative action stand on your own legs.
