The pessimistic attitute towards marriage is not good, marriage offers more good than bad. I understand divorces in the west, especially Usa can be hard on the men but its just 1 country. Men there need to campaign against it as its a legal and political issue.

There plenty of good Somali girls in the west. You guys seem to have this weird obsession of marrying someone back home to women you will never relate to. Apart from third world countries with no proper enforceable laws and protection for women, everywhere you go marriage is a contract. Islamically, it is a contract between a man and a woman and in proper Muslim countries, the court are very much involved.
I get guys being uncomfortable about alimony, but it seems to me, above all any form of accountability is an issue for them because Somalis rarely get into alimony disputes nor do we have enough finances on average for this to be a hot topic. In fact, we have the opposite problem. Women not recording their marriages and not getting their rights.

Marriage caters to and benefits men. Bc as a woman not only do you bust your ass at work same way a man does to help provide for the household cause you need two incomes these days but you also have to take care of all the domestic duties, cook clean and take care of the kids while your husband is chilling & sitting on his ass in the next room. And then you’re still expected to provide intimacy at night even tho you’re tired and burnt out
