This is modern liberal colonialism in a nutshell, people on the left can’t complain about forcing their footprint on lesser developed countries because they’ll look like “bigots” and people on the right don’t care or like the fact they can force themselves politically onto other countries, “soft power” as it’s called. Whoever came up with this strategy is a genius, people within the west can’t use their speech to admonish their country for meddling in foreign affairs and these countries get to keep some level of influence on the countries being “helped” the only threat to this is China.
