No, saxar is equivalent to the word dhibaato or hagardaamo, and no it's not an arabic loan I already explained it to the guy but he seems to be not the brightest, he is saying saxar and صحراء are the same when they don't even have the same meaning while we call desert saxara just like the Arabics, this the loan one not the saxar but they do look alike, like the word maal, there are two maal in our language one being native while the other is a loan word

Absolutely ridiculous and laughable. ‘We have loans and they look exactly the same but it’s not the same, 1 is a loan and the other is ours but it looks the same’. War wax soobaro cajuusyahow

Aqoon la'antu walle wa cadow bal sharaxaad yar iga sii mad I dhahdo at least hadadan waxba kala ogeyn?

@reer If Saxar has another meaning as these guys are trying to claim then why Saxardiid and why not dhibdiid as oday @Guure⁸ is trying to claim? See how dhib has 2 consonants and is clearly a Somali word but Saxar which is suspected of being an Arabic word has 3? See how Sulub which we were also discussing has 3 consonants? These guys just believe in kutiri kuteen and vibes, everything they say is just emotional and not based on facts or linguistics.

That's the most illogical thing I've ever seen, cay is equivalent to aflagaado, why don't we see someone called aflaagadodiid? Stupid argument

Yes, your argument is in-fact stupid. Cay and Aflagaado are both Somali terms with the same meaning. Neither is Arabic. Aflagaado is also already a conjugation of two other words but I’m sure you didn’t know that. Aflagadodiid therefore is cumbersome and ridiculous. It sounds like a retarded riddle. You make no sense.

What abt maagid why isn't there someone called maagdiid? And stop with the yapping come up with an actual evidence that saxar is an arabic word apart from "but it looks like arabic" argument

You are ignoring the evidence, and you provided it yourself. You said it was dhib, and if that is so then clearly it has the same meaning as the Arabic.

loan words can evolve and change meaning that doesn't mean they're not loan words?? i don't care if somali has a lot of Arabic loan words because I don't have an inferiority complex and am not a linguistic purist. everyone loans words its not that deep.
Shut up and no I don't have any inferiority complex as i'm stating the fact that both don't have same meaning but are similar sounds.
