I admire them to be honest. Not once have they been conquered in their entire history. Arabs failed to conquer them. Somalis failed to conquer them. Europeans failed to conquer them. And Somalis failed once again. They are truly unconquerable.

Somalis need to stop being delusional. How can you win against a civilization that has existed for thousands of years? It's ludicrous, right? The only country in the whole of Africa that was independent, who even sat on the table with Europeans getting their slice of the pie. They were even planning on reconquering Yemen and Sudan again and rebuilding the Aksumite Empire. Can you imagine? Sometimes I fantasise about Somalis not being conquered during the colonial period, and the Dervish defeating the British Empire, becoming an independent country with it's own territory. Can you imagine how amazing that would be?

Don't forget they also have their own ancient writing script that has been in use for nearly 3000 years. Geez, the only indigenous writing script developed in Sub Saharan Africa.:salute::banderas::lawd:

Italians conquered Ethiopia in the 1930s I don’t know why people ignore this fact and go on like Ethiopia wasn’t colonised.

It was a short occupation. The Italians didn't implement a solid colonial infrastructure in Ethiopia as they did in Eritrea and Somalia.

Difference between Ethiopia and Somalia is when the Ethiopians invaded us and tried to conquer us, they failed multiple times without Somalis using foreign powers while Somalis actually conquered Ethiopians but the Ethiopians would use their European masters to liberate them. Nothing to be proud of.

If you learn history. Italians really did colonize Ethiopians until the British liberated them during WW2. At the end of the day Eritrea was conquered which was part of Ethiopia and it's like Britain conquering north Ireland, it doesn't mean anything. It's still Ireland but a section of it was conquered just like Ethiopia. Here is Britain liberating Ethiopia during WW2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_African_Campaign_(World_War_II)

Somalis did conquer them successfully during the Abyssinian-Adal war until the Portuguese liberated them.

Just like the Ogaden war in 1977, Somalia was winning the war until the Soviet Union and their communist ally came to the rescue.

Colonisation nonetheless.

Haile selaasie fled the country while the Italians bombed Ethiopian cities. It wasn’t until the British came and defeated the Italians that was Ethiopia free.

Nope.

The Italians were being fucked over in Europe by the Allies. They didn't have the time nor resources to set up the Ethiopian colony.

I don’t disagree with the fact that Italy didn’t invest a lot into Ethiopia. There was some investment, for example the Hararis loved the Italian occupation compared to the Amhara one. But it was the British who defeated the Italians in east Africa hence freeing Ethiopia.

Maybe not colonialzation but total military occupation.

The Somalis used Turkish and Arabian musketeers as well.

So we both used foreigners.

They were insignificant and mostly gave us weapons instead. The army mainly consist of ethnic Somalis but the whole Portuguese army entered in the highlands fully armed and began liberating Abyssinia from the Adalite Somali troops.

But in 1977 was much worse. Somalia fought multiple countries so there is nothing to be proud of.

All I'm saying is if it was one on one. We can actually conquer them fair and square.

That female president thing got them a lot of good PR recently. I even saw it on mainstream news.

Ethiopia's branding is much better than Somalia.
