Out of the 99 major economic, social and political challenges facing Ethiopia--Somalia isn't one of them. Your countries fertile land is going through the greatest land grab by foreign interest in Africa's history. How can you own Somalia when your farms and natural resources are leased to non-Ethiopians?

Focus on trying to keep what you're government hasn't given away.

Our #1 priority is simple and it's always distracted by chasing squirrels like Ethiopia, GCC conflicts, Qabil or Corruption.

Somalia needs Education fullstop.

An educated Somali populous will never fall victim to blaming Ethiopia or others for our mistakes and challenges.

Just remember kiddo. "Somalia faces the world and Ethiopia faces Somalia".

Until you understand that, you will never comprehend why 2 million people landlocked a colonial population of cushites into hills.

The mistakes Ethiopia is making today will teach Somalia tomorrow. We need 50 years to get our country together; I just hope we avoid your mistakes.

You're one of the few level headed people on this forum when it comes to this topic sxb. Most people around here are suffering from ideological bias, unable to see the full picture.

Its time Puntland secede from this union.

Would rather have better ties to Ethiopia than to Xamar
:bell:

Why would you leave people whom share with everything and join people with whom you have nothing in common. Makes no sense.

No am not, somalis have a nature to be autonomous and this what ur masters took advantage of. Somalis divided themselves

You are not "autonomous" in reality but only on paper. You are controlled by Ethiopia. This is what Somalia prefers anyways so there is an agreement on all sides. Ethiopia is only taking advantage because Somalia is advantaged too. All sides are happy of this arrangement. Somalia feels it has benefited and so has Ethiopia. Its two way.

  • Real gross domestic product is estimated to have increased by 9 percent in 2016/17.

Imiagine when the Railroad and the development projects (ie dams, industrial parks etc) become operational.

Let’s take one industrial park in ethiopia (hawassa) for example, it will generate 80 million in rent a year. This is not even counting the revenue from exports and increased employment.

1. You screwed yourselves with those parks.
1.2. The managers are all chinese. They even have the power to issue VISAS! without leaving the parks.
1.3 ALL the financial benefits of production goes back to China, not one cent stays in ethiopia (capital flight.)
1.4. The goods will be made in ethiopia, by ethiopians, sold and bought to ethiopians, but the profits are chinese = ever increasing trade deficit and loss of dollars.

2. @LarryThePuntite is right.
You have bigger things to worry about than us. Investors are fleeing already and your crops are failing.
Game over for Flora EcoPower

One final straw for the German company which owns 70,000 ha of land in Oromia has put a definitive end to its Ethiopian adventure.

3. Tigray liar. Land is still being stolen and given to investors as early as 2 months ago. What else do you lie about?

The United Nations warns that armyworm infestation is currently wreaking havoc on season crops across six regions in Ethiopia and is spreading at an alarming rate.

The office said the infestation has since spread to Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Gambella, Oromia and Tigray regions.

At present, more than 145,000 hectares of maize crop across 233 woredas in 35 zones is reportedly affected nationwide. In Southern Ethiopia region alone, all zones are impacted to varying degrees and at least 5,653 hectares of belg cropland is infested, affecting some 20,000 households, according to the Humanitarian Affairs Office.

Here's the best part:

The government has called on additional stakeholders’ participation to protect major maize growing areas from complete damage.

❤Somaliland❤
Ethiopia also drugs you with khat, 1/3 of your GDP. You cannot grow your own khat for whatever reason.

You rely on Ethiopia for everything and control you in all ways imaginable.

We definitely own you
I'm a hardcore Somalilander but I don't really like Ethiopians like you, you say you supply us with khat? Kenya is already contesting Ethiopia on the khat market, you think people will buy from Ethiopia after all the poisoning? They flew that shit in bro, the hell are you talking about. They found different suppliers in days..(I hate khat tho, just making a point) Get off your high horse, your country is in a disarray as well. Thanks to UAE we rely less on Ethiopia... f*ck off

Keep this up and we will have an Egyptian military base in Somaliland
