Western democracy is a joke anyway. It is rendered almost completely ineffectual, especially in the United States, by the fact that they run it side by side with the economic system of Capitalism while essentially legalizing bribes ("campaign donations"). How they expect politicians to "equally represent" some poor man who owns only the clothes on his back and a nigga who owns a shopping mall is beyond me. The democracy in Somalia is even more of a joke with MPs either buying their seats or being put there by qabil politics.

People need to feel included in their government if you want it to last. Even if its a facade a voter system is very useful at appeasing people and pushing them from violent means. You could also use it as a means of polling.

That being said the average man shouldnt have a say in government especially in Somalia. One Executive propped up by the appointees of each FMS(upper parliament) as his “Shura” and agreed upon conditions serving as a “constitution”. The Shura would act as the “ahl xaali wal caqid” and reserve the powers to nullify his as a sort of checks and balances.

No hierarchy can be so top heavy without tipping over. There has to be a form of account for leadership so they dont go to far.

The Sahaba understood this but every self designated “Islamist” today envisions a totalitarian ruthless dictatorship even though nobody for good reason would want to live under that.
