It would be very comedic if Egypt tried something the day it gets inaugurated, if Sisi wants to make a move it has to be this year

Somalia is not the only, let alone the best, place for Egypt to launch an operation to destroy the dam. The distance from Somalia to the dam is almost the same as from Chad or Egypt to the dam.
Egypt has basically boxed itself in where they have no real recourse on the dam beyond either supporting armed militias to destroy it in a controlled manner or waiting for a major destabilising event to occur in Ethiopia.

Originally Kismayo based JL was in control of the city and it's environs however due to the politically savvy nature of the NISA JL Chief Abdirashid Janan he was able to take the city without much of a of fight by essentially dispersing the troops loyal to Madobe one group at a time.
Madobe's loyalists tried and failed a counter attack and where forced to flee across the border into allied Kenyan territory.
