An excellent move by Egypt. It is reasonable to ban the niqab as it is a security threat, because you can't see the face like you would with a hijab. Somalia should follow suit

Not surprised. You can't even wear a beard in that country without being put on a watchlist. It's usually Muslim countries who have the most anti-niqab/hijab laws, ironically. In Tajikistan, for example, the hijab is completely banned. Of course, you'll never hear the media talking about this stuff though.

Yh in Cairo they have a certain type of police that monitor the streets on Fridays mostly and take in random bearded men just because they look suspicious, I know someone that was taken in to custody twice for that just because he followed the command of his prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم

Honestly, this the thing that annoys me about the Burqa.

As much as I do believe in liberty (if they choose to wear it then so be it)

-but this is about the security reasons which I have a main problem.

And as a human being I love to see the face of a persons face.

They are also a lot of ways where a Muslim women can dress in modesty.

Niqab is hijab , Modesty becomes enough when they're covered from head to toe. Those Egyptians supporting it were either liberals, Sufis or Ashaa'irah and those make up majority of egyptians

Alshabab are known to be crossdressers so I can understand if somalia did it but there aren't extremists in Egypt so it's hard to know their intentions for implementing this ban.

First of all niqab is for women. You don't need to see the faces of women your not entitled to that. Since it's not fard they can just have people to identify them preferably other women. It's not a security risk like some people like to cope with plus this give women more job opportunities within the security industry. Women should be checking on women preferably but if there are no women security can just show her face to someone else in security.

I dont support banning niqab and I don’t support forcing niqab. Both are against the deen and set dangerous precedents.

This would never happen in Somalia though because our people are not Pashtuns. It would be 20 times more likely for Somali women to wear niqab because of skin bleaching than because they want to, or in your case, forced to.
