Edna Aden is a sicckk women

I say this and I got Warsangeli waqooyi bari and konfur cousins we pretty much speak the same Somali πŸ˜‚.

Also no such thing as uniform dialect in the North go to Sanaag the Isaaqs there speak the same Af as me its called Af reer Bari.
Speaking of dialects, reer Burco speak with a very distinct dialect, much different from, say reer Awdal, and so do reer Hargeysa, who take the mickey out of reer Burco drawl.

Be careful, when she speaks of S Galbeed, she is not speaking of the majority there, but specifically those who share lineage with her. Consider this: when she says she needs an interpreter in Kismaayo, her effing old brain forgets majority of those who reside in Jubooyinka are of S Galbeed, and of the same.

Majority of the Somalis in S Galbeed speak the same language as those in SSC, PL, GM, HS, JL and farther afield. So do those in SL.

JL Waamo dialect , Waqooyi Galbeed/Bari,Mudug and S.Galbeed dialects all have common origin.

For me Burco sounds like an indecisive dialect between rough sounding Galbeed and sophisticated Bari.

I see Isaaqs from Togdheere and Sanaag/Sool force themselves to speak af-Galbeed to fit in.

Gabiley is the heaviest Galbeedian dialect

She does have a point that there are different languages in Somalia. Such as Maay, tunni, judo,Garre, barawani etc...

But this woman's intentions are not pure. Her intention is to find a reason to say that Somaliland should be able to become independent from Somalia. Not to give awareness to the linguistic or ethnic diversity of the south.

I've seen many somalilanders on twitter and other social media platforms who act like they are speaking for minorities in the south. But their intentions are far from pure, and their only goal is to differentiate themselves from southerners.
I remember meeting one of your people speaking your language. Honestly couldn’t understand 50% of what the person was saying, decided to switch to English. There’s no reason to pretend we are kinsmen when I don’t even understand you. We can respect each other the way Spanish & French or Italian & Catalan can respect each other as Latin languages

That's up to you. I'm not begging you to view me as Somali. Couldn't give a monkeys what you view me as to be honest.
Then stop begging SL using Somali ethnic nationalist points, we will never see you as one of us. Always seeing you annoying Maay & Bantu folks using Jabarti/Hawiye irrendentist talking points against Isaaq when your asses ain’t even Somali. Move along and stop begging us

When do we ever beg Somaliland. You barely ever see a rahanweyn even talking about Somaliland.

I will never support Somaliland after you guys deported my people in 2021. After that day Somaliland is my enemy.

There has a long running joke amongst our mates; a Geeljire from Burco tried to court a Bureeqo from Awdal, and she thought he was inflicted with an illness of sort relying to her parents 'He is a decent lad, shame about the spastic condition (referring to his body language, arms gyrating as if reaching to the high heavens, and facial contortions when speaking) '. We still use that line whenever we regroup on the Thames.

The goes for many languages. Italians can barely understand each others regional dialects so is Italian not one language?
I somehow missed this post.. according to some reading i did there is a strong argument that the historically spoken languages/dialects in Italy are actually separate languages.
Secondly no such thing as "italian" language, what Italians speak is a florentine "dialect" called volgare that was imposed by the Italian gov as the linqua france.

She’s trying to use the colonial play book, obviously doing a terrible job at it. Don’t take this old buffoon to seriously.

Does she really need an interpreter:what1: and why is she calling us Italian Somalia lmaoo. Is this woman stuck in colonial times?
She is clearly exaggerating for political points, fun fact the northern part of England alone has 10 times the number of dialects spoken across maxaa tiri Somaliweyn. Although she has a point with baydhabo, with exposure af may may becomes mutually intelligible. Also I am seeing a lot of ppl using the word dialect very loosely.

Indeed! I didn’t even mention Reer Awdal who were also not big supporters of the SNM despite them being close in dialect to them. Here is Silaanyo chilling with β€œSomali Italiano” El Signore Caydiidno:

As many know, the original SNM never intended to secede from Somalia and they cooperated with β€œSomali Italian Gelato rebels”. We have the video of Muse Biixi stating as such in a video from the late 80s. SNM was, like other Somali rebel movements, created to address the injustices and tribal grievances of Somali clans against the Somali government. The idea of a separate state using the British Colonial border was born later and from what I heard it was it was controversial move in the Burco Conference. The β€œmuh British Somalialnd culture” myth was added much later on to spice up the all thing.
