The wife of Dubai’s ruler Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has left him — and taken £31million to start a new life, it is understood.

Princess Haya, who had not been seen since February, is said to have fled to Germany with her son and daughter.
She is understood to have immediately requested asylum and filed for divorce from her husband.

But it has sparked a diplomatic crisis between Germany and the United Arab Emirates, where the Sheik is vice-president and prime minister as well as being the ruler of the city of Dubai.

He is said to have asked authorities in Berlin to return the princess, 45, son Zayed, seven, and daughter Al Jalila, 11, to the UAE.

But they have refused and security officials are said to be protecting her.

Princess Haya is said to have told friends she chose to flee to Germany as she “didn’t trust UK authorities to hand her back”. The Sheikh, 69, worth more than £9billion, is a keen racehorse owner.

But he missed this month’s Epsom Derby for the first time in 28 years. In days, two of his stables used to train showjump horses, near Newmarket, Suffolk, had shut.

There seems to be an influx of Arab women, including “elites” like princesses (women are not really elites in Arab countries), that have fled or attempted to flee their countries of origin. There have been reports of torture and imprisonment by their families.

The fact that she felt she had to do this makes me truly hope he never catches her. IIRC his own daughter (by another mother) fled as well. Can’t be a coincidence.

Misunderstanding of freedom lol.

If I was a girl living in Saudi, I would’ve started my runaway attempts at 14.

I was refamiliarizing myself with the Al Makhtoum’s daughter Latifa’s runaway attempts, and one article say’s she started trying to run away at the age of 16. She’s now 33 and apparently imprisoned and ppl are asking this exwife which has escaped to Germany to help them release her now that she’s escaped. I reckon she’s seen some shit and doesn’t want her own daughter to be subjected to what happened to that girl.

When his daughter escaped with the help of a British special forces guy and others she was captured in the Indian Ocean. You know how? This ruler of Dubai used state intelligence, state special forces and the intelligence agency of the Israel to help him pinpoint where she was at. He then requested that Indian navy to intercept the ship (in Indian territorial waters). She was captured and medicated after the capture. Some so called UN “human rights” head (female) went to visit the daughter at the Palace of this evil ruler. It is suspected he slapped the UN lady with serious cash and she vouched for him that “the daughter is fine”.

Money allows you to get away with a lot.
