I believe Laasqoray district was the most unfairly treated district since most of the dwellers live in the mountains Mashcaleed being the easiest to reach and TPEC haven't went there.

The numbers are not that troubling to me, but the turnout in people from ages 40 to over 50s where the highest turnout was women, and young people under 30s.

- Only 11% over 50s,
- Only 10% between 41 - 50s,
- Worse yet, Only 19% between 30 - 40s.

Therein lies the biggest variance, and shall beget a political quandary at both district elections, and more so in parliamentary.

But then again, both Nugaal & Mudug resisted participation, and the general public was more focused on the SSC conflict de-interested in voting, let alone registration.

Do bear in mind, a good first attempt is the goal, and not perfection.

All in all, a very good starting point, with their being a plenty of time to remedy the process.

Postscript:
Voting age is set at 18, and not at 15, the 'qaan gaar' age, which makes a difference, and I think they are planning to address that in the future.

70% of people in Somalia are under the age of 30, I'd assume out of the 70% only 40% are over the age of 18.



SL registers people as young as 16 so we shouldn't use them as a metric.

Galgaduud goes from 500k to 700k yet S. Mudug goes from 300k to 200k and N. Mudug goes from 300k to 900k.

Guriceel town ALONE has more than 100K residents rn and I believe at this time it was part of Dhuusamareeb district and they had the audacity to estimat 140k im ded.

I’m not too familiar with the city as I’m not from anywhere near there but I’ve heard from officials that Sacad are the plurality but harti+Leelkase add up to make the majority.

The district control PL land size might be more but the Galmudug section is more densely populated so it must be a lot closer and you can probably assume it’s closer to 55-45 than 67-33 (2/3rds vs 1/3rd)

Maybe in the north near Sacad and Saleebaan Dhul and in this context you may be referring to that, but southern HG has a good border population in DDSI and is urbanising THOSE deegaans and trying to get them degmo statuses. Current crowdfunding is going on to build a few schools, wells, hospitals, etc in the shilaabo area due to the established increasing population in those lands.

@bidenkulaha Mogadishu population is roughly 3 million realistically. However this local election has proved Puntland are very lucky to have a population > 2.5 million and that’s just how it is .

@DR OSMAN It is a good start. These are local government elections so people are not as interested as when parliamentary elections are held. The stakes are lower. It will be interesting to see how much voter registration increases when parliamentary elections are held.

The political climate have changed since then, deegaans west of Hadaaftimo and Ceerigaabo District should be included. Laasqoray district voters are the least represented 185 for a whole district is disrespectful we need registration in the mountains.
