I doubt it. Somali politicians aren't the ones to scheme in such a way. Look up the history of Mu'min; he is truly devout to jihadist ideology.

There was a schism in Al-Shabaab way back in 2013-2016, and that's why many senior members like Mu'min and Aweys and eventually Robow left.

There were many reasons why they split, and it's not as clean as two opposing factions. From what I can gather, especially based on the killed Al-Amriki in Somalia almost ten years ago, a big reason is that the Al-Shabaab leadership is incredibly corrupt—mansions and harems of wives for the leadership, and Western luxury for them, but harsh Sharia law for those under them.

In post conflict areas there will always be a security breach , the men that cleaned up mountains after 2014 were known General Caydiid the current Boolis Ku xigeen of PL.
