Its haram, the Prophet (SAW) was the best to the boy he took care of but the Quran made it clear there is a difference between guardian and father.

Zayd ibn Haritha was called Zayd ibn Muhammad before the verses were revealed.

You can take care of a kid, and that is praiseworthy, but their father is their father.

You can have an adoptive mother though if she breastfeeds, that counts just as a birth mother does.

Its because if someone chooses to race mix, which is halal, but if they do they typically have particular tastes which is why they didn't inmarry to their own people.

If a somali woman marries an ajnabi she probably isn't that attracted to somali men, its illogical that she would hop from a somali man to an ajnabi because if she liked somalis she would stick with them.

It could happen the other way around though, like if a somali woman married a pakistani, got abused, then married a somali man.

Unless the dad was never in the picture it makes no sense either, I could never stand for my kid calling some other dude dad.

If I got a divorce and she wants to remarry that is her right obviously, but my kid isn't cosying up to her new guy, and I don't expect them to do that for my new wife in that scenario either.

Its basic respect to the actual parent.

I don't think Somalis or any people from let's say Arab, South Asian or African will call their stepdad dad. It is weird.

Wasn’t there a user on here who was full Somali with a Korean stepfather? I can’t remember her username but she would share her experiences sometimes.
