Do you have ANY Savings at all?

According to some online sources/articles 15% of all Brits don't have any savings and 59% of 22-29yr don't save at all. But who knows, the real figures could be wildly different. It's anecdotal, but the vast majority of people I know in that age-group don't have a pot to piss in or spend all their money on dumb frivolous shit.

Saving your money and frugality's seen a very icky thing. It's not uncommon to hear "f*ck sake don't be so cheap" and if you're dating someone, your wallet's in a perpetual coma wallahi.

The majority of us were too young when the housing market shat the bed and prices bottomed in 2011, we couldn't make the most of it back then. It's only a matter of time before markets violently shit the bed again thanks to the rona.

Personally, I'm waiting for bitcoin and other coins to take a nose-dive after the halving. The plan's to put some in cold-storage and just hold long term, among other things inshallah. Two friends of mine who made an absolute fucking killing in 2017 and a lot of analysts are predicting the mother of all bull runs around 2022-23ish.
The price dropped to like 6.6k last night but I didn't have any orders with stop/limit price in place so coinbase pro basically fucked me and 1000s of others.

Do you any savings in place and what do you plan to do with them come the next financial holocaust?

Looking at chucking some of mine into bitcoin and ethereum.

I fail to understand why some people don't have savings.

:faysalwtf:
I know wallahi, all the people I know renting properties they couldn't afford and paying off cars out of their price range for the sake of appearances are shitting bricks right now. Meanwhile I'm chilling:ftw9nwa:

You have to learn to save, u don’t want to be an adult that has to ask people for money during hard times. Please have a savings aside for rainy days :)

I opened an savings account couple years back where I put money in every week. I signed a contract with my bank where I can’t touch my savings account until a certain year cause I didn’t think I could trust myself lol

Best decision I have made. :wow1:

save for years used to work for a amusement park so 60 k+

I'm the same as you but with a negative sign. Mashallah to you.
Student loans? If you're from the UK, higher education's basically free. The repayments are a fucking joke. It's not like the US where they come after you, they only call it a loan so as not to piss off the taxpayers and the "pull yourself up by the boot straps" boomers lol.

The US fucks people with student loans but most somalis are low income and get free education.
