i honestly never really paid attention to it. A majority of my life i have been pretty broke and since i live with my pops its eitehr eat what i got home or eat out at the near by fast food restaurants. i never made it an issue in asking if places served halal meat. as long as i wasn't eating pork i didn't care.

imo all meat aside from pork is halal as long as youre in a non mushrik country. Cant stand people who lecture me about eating steak in a gaal country. The meat is halaal cause you can eat the meat of people of the book. Technically the USA is a christian country so imma eat. Even if there is no state religion theyre culturally christian so its fine. Only place you have to check if the meat is halaal is India, China etc countries who are mushrikeens.

No. I try to, but every now and then I have what the Brits call a "cheeky" McDonalds. If I see a good food truck, i'll have a mystery meat hot dog.
