recognition can only come from Mogadishu u need
I am not particularly optimistic that recognition will ever materialise. Somaliland’s recognition, in truth, can only come through Mogadishu. The Memorandum of Understanding was the closest Somaliland has ever come to formal recognition and even that was swiftly destroyed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
I doubt very much that the President of the United States would pursue recognition for Somaliland. Despite the efforts of figures such as Ted Cruz and the introduction of several bills in Congress, these remain largely symbolic gestures political semantics rather than a genuine path toward statehood.
Recognition from the African Union is improbable so long as Egypt remains an influential member, and it is equally unattainable through the Arab League, which will invariably side with Somalia. The United Kingdom, for its part, is reluctant to be seen as a neo colonial power that seeks to divide Somalia once again. That leaves the United States, where some Republicans may be sympathetic to the idea, yet it is far from a strategic priority. For these reasons, I find it difficult to believe that Somaliland’s recognition will be realised any time soon. you can bring forward argument there is something else ., though i think it was smart to use taiwan to make US like u and support you., but i dont think it will push the US to really divide somalia as it did divide sudan. when they forced hassan bashir to give south sudan a referendum. US isnt going to play such a role, because there is no oil , also them being in berbera makes no sense they are in djibouti already, they can even come to berbera with out recogntion . you couldn couldnt convince one country to recognise Somaliland
