DEBATE: Muhammad (SAW) Marriage to Aisha || Is Minor Marriage Acceptable?

I don't know why there is even a discussion about this. Most scholars agree that the marriage happened at 6 and it was consumated when she was 9. The evidence for this is in Bukhari and Muslim. We have the Quran at the top and underneath holding it up are Bukhari and Muslim, to deny these books is to deny the sunnah and to deny the sunnah is an extreme sin.

Muslims especially scholars should clarify Aishas real age because this is one of the biggest if not the biggest thing deterring people from accepting Islam.

Wadaads of sspot, give us your sources for what you think her age was.
Aisha رضي الله عنها was 6 or 7 when she was married to the Prophet ﷺ and she was 9 (some sources say 10) when the marriage was consummated and she was 18 when the Prophet ﷺ passed away. There’s no dispute by the scholars about this.

In Islamic law, there’s a distinction between a marriage contract and consummation of the marriage. A marriage contract can happen at any age but consummation of the marriage can only happen when the girl is physically fit to endure intercourse without harm (usually around puberty or a little after). In Pre-modern societies, especially among aristocratic families, it was normal to betroth a girl at a very young age and usually consummate those marriages usually when the girl became of age.

Daniel Haqiqatjou’s decision to debate this topic, especially in public is atrocious due to the sensitivity of the topic, a simple video or refutation article would have been sufficient.
