Sheikh Ahmed Nuur Jimcaale the owner of Barakaat Group is the owner of Hormuud, Golis, Telesom, Salaam Bank, Taaj Express, Buruuj Construction, BECO, EVC, Zaad and Daarusalaam city.

After the US shutdown Al Barakaat, Sheikh Ahmed Nuur Jimcaale was rock bottom. He survived and rebuilt his fortunes thanks in many ways to the success of Telesom where he was a majority share holder (owned 60%). He sold 50% of Telesom back to the management of Telesom, the proceeds was used to fund Hormood and other investments in South Somalia.
