I didn’t take offense to it, just thought the darkskin comment was funny bc Somalis are dark, darker than a lot African Americans

To be truthful I’m only assuming the last statement I made. That’s going by me and my family’s experience.

We’re generally lightskin, but when we’re out in the sun we ran to darkskin, and then during winters or when we stay inside we go back to lightskin.

So maybe that’s why you almost NEVER see a lightskin in somalia, but then you’ll see like 30-40% of somalis in the west are lightskin. Of course there are somalis who are darkskin no matter what.

I understand you confessions, I also had Ethiopian fever. I got aids and almost perished. Every since I got money like Magic Johnson I had been cured.

That has not been my observation. The vast majority of Somalis I’ve seen in Minnesota are dark (mind you they are majority MJ and Ogaden), and Somali men are even darker

Regardless, that has little to do with me. You’re saying that me making these claims is trying to help me sleep better at night. When that doesn’t make a difference.

Somali skin color is the same as every other sub-saharan country. The overwhelming majority being quite dark, and a tiny minority having light skin.

The only thing that differs us are slimmer facial features and looser hair. But that’s just my opinion, you have the right to yours.

Are lightskin somalis REALLY that rare to you? I’d say I have a nearly 50/50 chance of a somali being lightskin, with darkskins having a bit more prevalence. 40/60 at best, 30/70 at worst.

Hard to believe that 1 in 10 somalis you meet are lightskin and the rest of 9 in 10 are darkskin.
