I agree 100% I've seen too many clips of young men get falsely accused of rape from women and having their lives ruined while women who falsely accused them get off scot free. We need to advocate for strict laws to combat false accusations so that whenever someone does accuse someone else of rape or any other means of sexual assult, they know they have to tell nothing but the truth

Rape is already severely under-reported as it is... And in the countries where the majority of rape happens, victims are not only dismissed but encouraged to keep quiet, Imagine you have been raped, and there's no real proof beyond your word. The police don't really believe you, and your family and friends are begging you to just drop it. IN ADDITION, there's a very real risk that, since you can't absolutely prove it happened, you'll get charged with making a false accusation and therefore serve the same amount of jail time. Do you report it?

Also there are multiple incentives at play here, not just from the victim. It's like demanding that child rapists be put to death. It sounds reasonable at first until you realize that all child rapists would seriously consider murdering their victims, if punishments are equal. I'm sure any parent who can gag through the idea of their child being a victim of this, would rather have their child survive. In other words the false rape accusers will be much less likely to come clean from their allegations, we shouldn't incentivize worse behavior, or doubling-down on bad behavior because the punishment is too steep.

Also worth noting instances of false accusations are really low and not something that happens anywhere near as much as actual rapes.

Lastly, aspects of framing a person (defamation, fabricating evidence, perjury, etc) are already considered to be serious crimes. Someone convicted of a set of these acts will still surely be punished.
