If these bridges you are selling us is based on us adjusting by leaving our culture and religion, then we are not interested in buying. Can we live in the west, be productive members of society, respect the laws and keep our religion and culture? This is what it always come down to....they will not be happy until we become just like them. Atleast Emily was honest where she stands and who she identify with. We’ve an African Organisation in Australia formerly led by a scientist who worked in the past for CSIRO (where they invented the WIFI that we enjoy today) and is now in charge of the African Think Tank. I had the privilege of meeting this gentleman and this eminent scientist’s first question was, what’s wrong with the Somalis? I’ve asked him what you mean? He replied that we have 20 different organisations based on clans and couldn’t agree to select a person to represent us in that African umbrella. From Egypt to South Africa, they have representatives who are highly educated. Is that the “culture and religion” that you are alluding to? Every time, there is a crisis, the media have been tipped and knows the clan of the person they are enquiring about and subsequently, head to the clan organisation’s President for comments. What these clan leaders spew on TV makes you vomit. How could a sane person identify with such people? John Doe makes more sense to me than these mob.
