I challenge you to write a phrase with only authentic Somali words. Would you?
Shaqo= Hawl/Danoo. Aqbala= Yelaa. Laakin: Balse. Ilah, can be Somali too not just Arabic. Ahm, but for 'fadhlan' we don't have it's somali equivalent/ authentic word, I guess. I don't know.ChallengeShaqo tan baanaqbalaqaadaya inaan ku tuso tan waa arin fuduudlaakinansemawduucwax aan la hadlo ma aqaano tali ii dhiib waa qasabfadlanilaheebe ku naxariisto
In "balse" isn't "bal" the arabic "بل" which means "rather"? The problem is that "-se" is a suffix so you have to add another word to attach to it ideallyShaqo= Hawl/Danoo. Aqbala= Yelaa. You're correct. but look at this. I: from isaga and Leh: you know it means 'own'. So if we compound we got 'ilah'. so it got it's root in Somali too as it's in Arabic too.In "balse" isn't "bal" the arabic "بل" which means "rather"? Also I am pretty sure "ilah" comes from "إله" indefinite of god (of which الله is probably a contraction of الإله)
Is there a afsomali word for 'but' ? Similar to balIn "balse" isn't "bal" the arabic "بل" which means "rather"? The problem is that "-se" is a suffix so you have to add another word to attach to it ideally

I think that this word 'balse' is authentic Somali word for 'but'. It just that I can't prove it's roots. Maybe someone will help out us with this one word.Is there a afsomali word for 'but' ? Similar to bal
