mogadishu is the best looking city in somalia in my opinion (going off people's snaps and pictures and videos online) and seems to have the most potential to be prosperous, but its security, or lack thereof, makes it essentially the shittest city in terms of practicality and investment. hargiesa may have peace but if people are being honest it looks shit and stability hasn't been helpful in developing that wasteland, the majortiy of it looks like a large sprawl of slum, and the inequality is rife, where diaspora people live in semi-nice houses but no-one else. you have to bear in the fact that majority aid is pumped into mogadishhu and its outskirts tho,so hargeisa might be better if aid starts rolling in, but that will never happen in its current state of being a half country. can't speak for puntland cause never been or seen much, but looks decent and is situated in a better place to be the hub of somalia if the right investments are put in, but mogadishu will never let go of their inflated ego and let go of the countrys political power, even though its proven to not work down there

It has become a shithole, but it's still the Iron Throne for Somalis. Whoever has Xamar can claim to be the legitimate ruler of Somalia in the eyes of the world and most Somalis.

It's a shithole because all the inhabitants have migrated out and people from badiyo moved in. Plus an entire generation was born and raised in war. So yh its a shithole but the most important shithole we have.

Mogadishu actually has the highest standard of living in Somalia.

The city is improving when it comes to development you see a new construction site every day, in sha allah so will security in that one cursed district

The Somali people who are now in the rest. Mostly Hawiye with the largest clan being Abgal but others too such as Hawadle and Habar Gidir. There are also less Daroods, Rahanweyn, Isaaq etc who came to the city. There's also a minority foreign non somali population.

Yes, but the rest of Somalia (including Somaliland) have their own ills. Despite the terror attacks, Muqdisho is still the most developed city in Somalia. It makes no sense to call it a shithole if the other cities have little more than peace to show for it.

You misunderstood. I said there was a splinter. That group split from the ICU and started fighting the government (TFG) and the Ethiopians. These khawaarij have killed too many innocent people and are still running around and causing destruction. The SFG needs to do more to stop them.

Another factor is when the hardliners of the ICU failed to convince the moderate leadership within the ICU to support a more aggressive policy in dealing with Somalia’s non-Muslim enemies.
