It has become a shithole, but it's still the Iron Throne for Somalis. Whoever has Xamar can claim to be the legitimate ruler of Somalia in the eyes of the world and most Somalis.

Mogadishu actually has the highest standard of living in Somalia.

Because it is so urban and doesn't include data on the nearby hinterland.

Urban areas always have more GDP.

Safety isn't included into that HDI and therefore is a bit misleading.
