Cadaan Turk dhuuso showing off his fine gazelle xalimo straight from Somalia

You are a liberal white washed Somali
There are no WEs if we do not have an identity. You’re trying to rob our identity by establishing western ideologies right in our backyards. If you wanna marry bums and support homosexuals go and vote democrat but don’t come on a Somali forum and belittle people for not sharing the same ideas/views as you. At least the white man acknowledges my cultural belief and respects my boundaries. You new aged Somalis are crazy wallahi

100%

lol, I never once brought up white people in any of my posts. You automatically bringing them up and putting them on a pedastal shows me the kind of racial hierarchy you hold in your head.

I think it is barbaric to kill someone over something they say. Where did you get race and 3rd world from. Disgusting projection on your part. If you let the white mans belief about Africa and Somalia stay in your head rent free that does not mean I do. Don't call Somalia 3rd world to me nacas.

I'm a proud Somali that loves seeing other Somalis being themselves. Being Somali does not have anything to do with any religion its our dna and culture. We are individuals not a cult. Nothing makes my blood boil more than a pathetic insecure Somali like you. Uuf

We're ethno-religious group, so being a Muslim is central to the Somali identity. You can live your life as you wished, but it shouldn't be misrepresented on the larger Somali community who are Muslims.

I'm perfectly capable of having healthy debates. Despite what you think I don't have an agenda. I'm skeptical of a lot of things, that post was me expressing some of my thoughts. If you don't think someone is worth having a conversation with because they are not muslim then I hope you develop some open mindedness.
If that was the case then you would’ve moved past blaming social ills on the practice of islam. You need to realise that the excuse of “wahabism” has been played out so much that it’s almost granted that those using it have always an agenda. This is especially true when the people in question are either gaal like you or non- practising Muslim.

You couldn’t care less if it was classical Islam or wahabism as your current world view is opposed to both. Look at the quote that i posted earlier was it wahabism or Islam as whole that you were critiquing ?

So why were you pretending that you had issues with only wahabism or radical Islam when you & I both know that isn’t the case. At least have the decency to be true to what you believe in & drives your arguments in your discussions. Hijab, polygamy etc all of it was nothing more than a disguise to hide your actual intentions.

I don't care what you think of my so called agenda, I'm not advocating for the persecution of people based on what they believe in. I don't know who you have argued about wahabism with before but don't bring the baggage of others talks you've had into a conversation with me.

If telling yourself that I hate every muslim and all forms of islamic thought helps you sleep at night then so be it. I have the decency to not make assumptions about you as an individual or attack you as a person because I'm secure in my beliefs. Now go do sujud or something, I think you need some grounding in reality.

@Enter sxb don't waste your time with humphery waa gaal, it's not a coincidence that he's blaming our social ills on wahabism, radical islam iyo what not, all of it is just to hide his really agenda which is to blame diinta itself. Just read what he wrote below.

I think she is also a woman hiding behind a man's name. If you look at her below comment, she ended it with the word "uuf". No Somali man uses that phrase; it is mostly ladies who use it. Her obsession with polygamy does also reveal her as well. Besides, her dp is a female as well. I'm convinced @Mr.Humphrey is a lady using a male nick.

Ayan hirsi?!?! I know you are ex-muslim yourself, but ayan hirsi?! :ayaanswag:

It’s not assumptions but factual observations from your exchange with @Enter that I use as evidence to form those judgments.

There’s a common factor that underlies your arguments behind the practice of hijab, polygamy etc & the negative connotations that you associate them with. It has nothing to do wahabism etc but with your disdain that Islam allows it. Now the problem is that you simply don’t want to be honest about it hence the excuse of wahabism, radical Islam etc.

You see you couldn’t care what strand of Islam Somali people practice as long as it’s against your adopted values & norms you will always have a problem with it.

My reasons for being against wahabism is completely different than yours as I don’t seek to vilify nor attack any of the permissible practices that Islam allows while you on the other hand attack & vilify these practices. So much so that you cite them as causes for our ruin & it’s evident for anyone why you will go to such an extent.

If a discussion is what you want at least be frank and stop this facade that you “only” have issues with wahabism etc.

You maybe right sxb if you think about the topics as well, hijab, polygamy, women’s rights it’s not definitive but adds weight to that assertion tbh.

ethno-religious doesn’t exist.

An Assyrian or an Israelite can still become Muslims even if a majority of their people are Jewish or Christian, and vice

Somalis are even older then Hinduism that has existed for 5000 years. Our identity, language, culture & history was never based on Islam because it came after us.

you can just say that Islam has a huge influence and or is a major religion. But it isn’t a part of our sole identity as a whole. Islam only got a major influence on us because off the civil war, and it wasn’t even in the early 90s, people switched from sect and started to implant Islam in their own way since the 2000s.

notice that middle Easterns don’t apply these rules to themselves despite the fact that all 3 Abrahamic religions originated from there, their ethnicity, nationality and tongue isn’t exclusive to their own main religions. You have Arabian Muslims, Jews & Christian’s, and they Are very aware that they are diverse.

I repeat we're ethno-religious people. Islam has been ingrained in us for 12th centuries, and we're the only people in Africa who did jihad in each of those 12 centuries. Islam has dug deep within the Somali society that there is no Somali identity without Islam. We would've been no different than the Rendille or Borana had we not embraced Islam.

Understand how the word "Gaal" came to being before you discuss this topic. We pushed out non-Muslims from our land, some of them were Somalis who happened to be non-Muslims.

I can't believe people want to only associate Islam in Somalia in the 1990s. Just check with your family trees. We once had a Somali Muslim empire that controlled all the way to the Maldives. We didn't fight the Portuguese in the Middle Ages so diaspora kids can re-write our identity. You take Islam out of the Somali identity, and there is nothing left of it. Kids, please read our history and how we hold onto our lands while we remove the non-Muslims before all of a sudden you invent a different identity for us.

Dude you’re talking crap lmao.

Somalis only became a majorly Islamic around the 14th century and that could even be cap because people weren’t at each other’s throats like other Islamic population:
“In the 14th century many Somalis, converted to Islam by Arabs from across the Red Sea, began their expansion southward from the arid steppes to their present borders, which overflow what was traditionally known as Somaliland.”.

do you know what this mean? It means that we only have been majorly Islamic for the last 600 years or so, it means that Islam doesn’t even make up 9% of our whole existence on this planet.

The word gaal is associated with the white people mostly, wether you like it or not. We can argue with each other but we used the word “gaal” against those filthy European invaders as an insult, it wasn’t an attack against their religious beliefs.

Islam was never radicalised in the past as it has been now for the last 22 years. I never said 90s smart pants I said 2000s because that’s when the whole al-shabaab, hijab mandatory, extremism and terrorism, converting to a different sect thing started. People in the 90s were doing everything to survive the pain, hunger, and war, while those in the 2000s didn’t care anymore and became power hungry and used religion as a cover up.

Again, ethno-religious Isn’f real. Belief is smt you CHOSE, you can always change your religious beliefs, but you can’t ever change your roots at the end of the day. That’s why I said that certain ethnic groups can always convert which would never change their roots at the end of the day. Arabs are very aware of the fact that they aren’t all the same and can be religiously different, we really are in no place to act as if that’s not possible for us.

@Roorigeg you can downvote me all you want but it’s the bitter truth at the end of the day. You can either accept it and move on with your life or argue with me about smt that doesn’t even exist

Nonsense. I am not even gonna bother reading the rest of your gibberish. Kulahaa Islam came to Somalis in the 14th century. Islam has always had a presence in our land since the arrival of the sahaba emigres in the Horn of Africa in the 7th century. There is a mosque in Seylac that has 2 qiblas - One towards to Al-Quddus and the other qibla towards Mecca - and we have this girl claiming Islam reached our land in the 14th century. What a bull load of crap.

"The mosque, which translates to (Arabic: مَـسْـجِـد الْـقِـبْـلَـتَـيْـن; "Mosque of the two Qiblahs"), dates its construction to the 7th century CE, shortly after the Hijrah (Arabic: هِـجْـرَة) of Muslims to what was then Abyssinia.[4] It is one of the oldest mosques in Africa. It contains the tomb of Sheikh Babu Dena. Though now mostly in ruins, the edifice features two mihrabs: one oriented to the north toward Mecca, and the other oriented to the northwest toward Jerusalem.[5]"

The people who want to rewrite our identity have no knowledge in our history. Islam can't be separated from the Somali identity. You want to be gaal, it is your loss. However, we'll
forever remain Muslims.

Again, in the past 12 centuries, Somali people were leading at least jihad in the East Africa in each century. Here is Sheekh Hassan Hussein explaining it:

Ain't no way that a girl or a boy embraced in liberalism or kuffar ways of life will change us.

Again you’re an idiot who can’t even read sentences correctly.

mid you read my comments correctly you Bafoon you would realise that I said this:
“Somalis only became a majorly Islamic around the 14th century”

Islam was introduced either in the late 600s or early 710s, I’m leaning more on the late 600s. This means by this time Somalia wasn’t majorly Islamic. Only a small part of the north practiced if.

by the 14th century Somalia became majorly Islamic, so you know what majorly means? It means that not all, but more then half off the population were Islamic by the time and the numbers just kept growing century by century.

but what I said was a fact, Islam doesn’t even make up 9% of our existence on this earth. The Israelites mainly based their whole existence on Judaism, their culture, their language and their roots, because their ancestors invented the religion, hence why they heavily identify with it.

you can’t compare us to the Jews because Islam didn’t came from us, our language isn’t based on Islam, nor is our roots and culture. Islam has (wether you like it or not) roots in Arabia and it has always had it and will always be a Middle Eastern religion, not a Somali one.

So we can’t be an ethno-religious group if our culture, tongue, history and roots isn’t based on Islam. You have to speak Arabic & denounce your language, denounce your roots, forget about your history to even be considered that. We aren’t an Arabic nation, we are Somalis. The religion either should have formed your identity or was a part of your people for a very long time and dude, Islam hasn’t been that long into our country, Arabic Muslims aren’t considered to be ethnic-religious so what makes you think us outsiders should even think about that?

what jihad? Lmao don’t make me laugh our most notorious fight is the civil war we currently have which is rooted into greediness. Most of our wars were influenced by greediness and it got us back at the end

Do you speak the Somali language? Were you able to listen and understand what Sheikh Hassan Hussein revealed? Were you able to understand the Muslim travelers that he quoted? You're fixated on the civil war in the 1990s when the majority of Muslim empires in the Somali peninsula far preceded that.

The two-qibla mosque in Seylac busted your crap. Both Ifat and Adal were based in Seylac,. Ajuuraan were based in central and the south. They led jihad and resisted gaal madow and cadaan as well.

I repeat ain't no way that a girl or a boy embraced in liberalism or kuffar ways of life will change us. We're an ethno-religious ethnic group. You gotta problem with that, tough luck with that.

Nice talking with you @Xoxoxo.
