Buying land

Im thinking about either buying a house or buying land and hopefully building a house in a few years insha Allah

Hargeisa is starting to look pretty expensive, I considered Berbera, Borama or Burco as well but they look so empty

What do you guys think ? Is there even anything to do in those cities ? Borama looks nice with good education but other than that I dont think theres many activities

Also how cheap is the land there

Buy land anywhere that is projected to grow and urbanise. Idk jack shi about land but thats 1 fact hooyo taught me:sass2::mjswag:
After checking Borama seems cheap but still nothing to much to do, Berbera is expanding fast and theres the beach right next to it but also not as much to do than in hargeisa

Overall I think Borama and Berbera are the more interesting choices but Im still not sure

And burco is still a just a big tuulo tbh

Anywhere thats expanding means thats ripe opportunity to create stuff that makes the city more interesting.

i say invest in the city that is urbanising more. More appreciation of the land means more return in sales. Like for example in xamar my grandad AUN bought land in medina in 1980 before the war for around 25K dollars. He sold it in 2024 for 250K.

Borama is getting expensive; some of the more prime locations can fetch between 10k-100k.

True true, also after looking more Berbera is the right choice, cheaper than borama for now and its expanding faster, tons of opportunities and potential businesses also with the new port and economic zone

Plus imagine being that close to the beach, theres some nice restaurants there as well

Even if its in years, I cant wait to move there, its my biggest dream Insha Allah

Ofc do much more deeper research into this but im rooting for you brother. 💪
inshallah you get to move there as well one day

Buy the land / plot and if you don't have the full money to build the house straight away. Slowly build it example send 1000 , 500 ,400 ,250 etc weekly or Monthly .

Guri qabyo ah (guri dhismihiiso socdo) is a common thing.

Start some where before you know you will a house in sha Allah.

If you are not there on site to supervise it, make sure its some one you trust like your parents to be there .

Buy land where your clan lives so you wont get xooged. Unfortunately somalia is still a tribalistic society so anything can happen your house wont be guaranteed
Im Isaaq and Berbera waa dhul Isaaq, also these problems are becoming less frequent as people become more civilized, especially in the new generation, many darod youth working in hargeisa

Buy land where your clan is native to if you don’t want it to get seized and be unable to do anything about it.
Why would it get seized somalis arent uncivilised people yk. If you bought land and have signed papers with witnesses, no one can take the land. If it happens it can be taken to the maxkamads.

Civil law/collective moral code transcends tribal law

what region are you talking about here? Theres rule of law and a moral code everywhere. No primitive clan can take away the rights of someone who has papers.

only thing is in rural areas you have to be from a big clan like for example somaliland (excluding darood areas) then the social expectation is you have to be isaaq or dir and this is the same for all the other regions. (Social expectation NOT law)

Even then there is rule of law if someone decides to stumble and buy land in another clans lands. They will be fully protected and backed by their regional leaders
