If the South had military support from Puntland & Somaliland, we would be rid of Al-Shabaab very quickly. Unfortunately, Somalis can't be united in their efforts.
They would be getting paid a lot as well instead of the money random african soldiers who do nothing, it would also help them support their families and help the economy. Somalis are too hard headed to see the bigger picture for that to happen though. There are also a lot of political dynamics to this, westerners and the people they back wouldn't want that
