@Devilsadvocate It looks like railway is mentioned here too so it sounds like there are future plans for a railway system
Probably they will leave the space for it but highly unlikely, railways cost billions to build especially in a big country like somaliaIt says “railway connect” are their plans to build a railway in Somalia?
I think that space will be reserved for highways tbh. We need big asphalt roads going to the city since warshiekh is quite far from xamar about 61km in between.Probably they will leave the space for it but highly unlikely, railways cost billions to build especially in a big country like somalia
There will be a road from warsheikh to xamar, its part of the projectI think that space will be reserved for highways tbh. We need big asphalt roads going to the city since warshiekh is quite far from xamar about 61km in between.
Ghana just announced its new train systems and it looks really nice. I genuinely thought this was another country. Insha Allah Somalis can one day implement something like thisProbably they will leave the space for it but highly unlikely, railways cost billions to build especially in a big country like somalia
Damn its literally exactly the same as the RER trains in France, but it does look nice, I like the color, a white train with blue decals would look really goodGhana just announced its new train systems and it looks really nice. Yes it costs Kenya 5 billion of loans from the China Exim bank they pay around 400 million a year with interest but the worst part is that nearly no one uses it and not enough freight goes through it so they make negative profits from it on top of the interest, useless megaproject I think they just built it to flex honestlyYou don't have permission to view the spoiler content. These projects are amazing but demand and whether the population can use it must also be considered otherwise it would be a vanity project. Like @Barkhadle1520 said, Kenya pays $400 million a year but barely anyone uses it. Its like building highways when a large portion of the population do not own a vehicle.Ghana just announced its new train systems and it looks really nice. Thats because all the wealth, economy and population is concentrated in Nairobi so it makes no sense for Kenya, most SSA countries are like thisThese projects are amazing but demand and whether the population can use it must also be considered otherwise it would be a vanity project. People were hating on this decentralized government structure (including myself) but Alhamdullilah it worked out great for us, and more and more people are starting to realize this. Cant wait for the real economic numbers to come out in the coming years and shock global economists. They will have little reason to continue portraying us as the poster child for how not to run a country. We could easily become top economies in Africa within the next 5-10 years.Thats because all the wealth, economy and population is concentrated in Nairobi so it makes no sense
As I said in Somalia each state works as their own small country and have their own cities and economies so it would make perfect sense connecting those states with each others and with the economic capital of the region (Xamar), if this ever happens it will trigger a huge economic boom
