Why are Somalis so langaab :(

Imagine if there were 100 million Somalis and 2-3 million of us in the West or something.

There are millions of black people, white people, Asian people in the UK for example. But maximum 100k Somalis.

There is nothing worse than being surrounded by ajnabis wallahi.

Imagine if like 10 % of Minneapolis was Somali for example, not fobs but like third or fourth generation. Or other East Africans. Imagine if the only ajnabi you guys chill with are oromos or habeshas and cadaans. Wallahi that would be nice.

Am I the only one that feels like this? Like I was chilling with my Jamaican friend and I noticed that all his friends were mainly Jamaican, he listens to mostly Caribbean music, he goes to parties with mainly other

Yh there are a lot of Somalis in my area as well but not in uni lol
Unis are always filled with asians and cadaans. I feel sorry for you because you should of made good somali friends in secondary school and still be able to have contact with them. One of my tight ones is a somali girl and honesty the banter and chemistry between us is unmatched

I think it is fine if you live in a country that adheres to rational principles about equal treatment and a balance of rights between the majority and the minority.

I live better as a black, immigrant, lesbian, feminist, questioning, albeit with a discriminatory element, than I would have as a straight muslim man in Somalia, as they suffer abuse too either due to their poverty, clan status, or political disagreement.

In Somalia the lack of adherence to rule of law means that rights become arbitrary and justice absence, and the individual is at the mercy of the powerful entity be it a man, group or clan at the time.

Wouldn't you agree @Knowles?

Nobody is talking about Somalia though we’re talking about our experiences in the diaspora.

I don’t think you understand that genetically, people prefer and stick to their own people. Even in western countries, people are racist to outsiders. We’re tribal people whether you choose to reject or deny it. It’s human nature.

Agreed I prefer diverse environments with brown, black and white people from various different religions and sexualities. I would find a space occupied by only Somalis equally as uncomfortable as white only spaces. I find when Somalis are in a groups there is a lot of group think going on and people trying to control other group members behaviours. I enjoy spaces where there are a diverse range of ideas and faces. If the OP wants to be around Somalis only, he is in luck I heard there’s a whole country filled with them.

@Steamdevolopment I actually feel bad for my initial response to the OP. I can imagine he feels sad since Britain is extremely segregated and people usually seek out their own cultures and he wishes he could do the same but in schools, campuses and work places Somalis are often in the minority.

@World im sorry my first post was insensitive.

There's no Somalis where I live so I only have ajnabi friends. It's not so bad. I talk to Somalis online everyday. I plan to go back home and live among my brethren one day, inshallah.
