Resorting to 4chàn style posting I see:lolbron:

The internet could have been independently created by other people but the resources behind it are locked behind coltan in the Congo. Only one of the two necessary components is irreplaceable and it ain't the white devil.

I don't really care about white people but I could care even less about other Africans f*ck them. The last thing I want is to be under a Nigerian's thumb in some magical African EU.

The most diverse continent in the world shouldn't be reduced to a political wet dream of some pathetic US blacks and Kwame Nkrumah. Get your head out of your ass it will never happen

That's the difference between us, your viewing Pan Africanism as a political concept rather than the economic golden goose it could be. Somali businessmen dominate in whichever African country they live in but recently there has been push back against them as African countries are slowly starting to realize their native businessmen can't truly compete. Tanzania is making it increasingly hostile for Somalis to open up businesses and refused to join the East African Federation without assurances that Somalia will ever be allowed in. Pan Africanism will let us access any African country"s markets and hold them hostage economically on some yahuud shit. Think bigger.

You're conflating the two, free trade and political union are completely different things. The US, Canada and Mexico are all 3 distinct political entities but are highly interlinked economically.

Uniting under one banner will put African politics completely in Cairo, Lagos, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Cape Town. I don't want a United States of Africa, I want a Somali ethnostate that trades with it's neighbors.

You seem to be driven by some victim mentality to unite the continent, frankly most Africans don't give a shit about each other let alone showing patriotism within their own countries when you have 15 separate ethnicities tied in fake colonial borders.

Pan-Africanism today in current Africa under the AU is about free trade and movement of people not the unification of all African countries, that is our disconnect.

You don't think it's going to start centralizing? That's what the EU started out as too. Just a simple free trade zone, these organizations tighten and as the big countries abuse their economic power. The EU now is a German export outlet with French support. Those who challenge this are bullied into submission.

Look at the EU and tell me how a continent like Africa with even more ridiculous extremities between the poor and wealthier countries won't be abused if Africans decide to get together today.

I'm playing Realpolitik and @Sleepy Hollow hasn't realized what will happen to the smaller countries like Somalia if you jump on the African kumbaya bandwagon. Free trade is good but free movement and uniform economic regulation is a big no

Free movement is good as long as the none natives don’t have permanent settlements

The AU and its predecessor the OAU have existed longer than the EU and haven't even implemented free movement after close to 4 decades, only a signed agreement a few years ago. Western Europe has had more than one civilization that united its land, they are a very different case. At best I see African countries forming regional blocs starting around 2050 and not a moment sooner. A centralized AU is as likely as Somalia landing a man on the moon literally tomorrow evening.

Wrong the EU's predecessor the EEC was created before the OAU.

So you're saying Europe is more cohesive than Africa? Yes I agree

Now I want to be balkanizing rival African states, you see an economic deal right now, I see instigating civil wars and then rising as the dominant power in the Horn as a unified Somalia. Any regional integration plays into Ethiopia's hands. It sees Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia as it's backyard currently.

Trade is something I support personally and east african version of NAFTA would be brilliant but that's as far as I'd go in the short term (30 years). No restrictive political entanglements because Somalia needs to look to the Indian Ocean as well. China, India, and South East Asia are all in view and with rapidly growing economies.

You might define Pan-Africanism differently but your fellow comrades see it this way
