Be honest, which ethnicity or nationality were you ever mistaken for?

I frequently get mistaken for:

Eritrean & other Cushites
Indian
Sri Lankan

On some occasions i get mistook for Yemeni. I remember one time, a Yemeni shop-owner randomly started speaking Arabic to me at the till & i told him that i'm Somali, but then he started begging to me, telling me that Somalis & Yemenis are "one people" with a common origin & that we look very similar bla bla...
:pachah1:

I shut down his arguments on the spot & i could tell he was pissed, but he tried to keep it inside. Yemenis are top begs to Somalis wallah.
:heh:

If I say it, you evil people will give me the evil eye and won't say mashallah.

Any of you American Somalis outside of Minnesota ever have been confused for regular African Americans?

This must have happened as African Americans are very diverse in their looks (from almost white to pure Congolese looking).

somalilander genes :drakekidding:

It's weird but I when I don't wear a hijab people have a hard time telling what my ethnicity is. I've only gotten other East African countries

With hijab it's impossible to get it wrong lmao
