Not from what I know.. But I'm not saying some fucked up things doesn't happen in Somalia.. But these news papers especially in Denmark are known to exaggerate things.
These are allegations that have been mentioned in court. Could you check to see if Danish courts post proceedings online to see if the media is exaggerating? Usually it's in text form.

There have also been some people on here too who humiliate victimized women who do FGM awareness, typical of the dhaqan to do so. Or people in general who tell rape victims to keep quiet even when they believe them so they dont bring shame.
Keep speaking up brave young girls and women. We have heard time and time again of many incidents towards females. Let them call you names or a liar for simply standing up for your human rights. Ignore them and be aware of them, especially fellow women who do this. They are the bigger enemy. You have to fight for change. Don't be scared and speak up when you have been wronged and abused. Many others will have your back. Get to safety and don't be intimidated by them.

So you can't prove it so you immediately doubt the story? You just said the media exaggerates and now you say we don't have proof of what happened. Which is it?

From what I know, she was sent back for dhaqan celis...of course I cannot proof if she was raped, but I was listening to a radio program claiming her father took her to a sex slave market and sold her, like she was a piece of cattle.. I've never heard of such market where Somali fathers can go to sell their daughters, that is why I was being sceptical.. Furthermore I also know about the case and family.. She's from a well known family. But only Allah knows the truth.
You went from saying you know the family (as if they would tell you the truth) to having doubts to now saying Allah knows best.
I know a Somali girl who was raped for years by her brother. She had the strength to eventually tell her mom and her mom didn't believe her. She's become mentally ill because of it. People here who say they have doubts or say stories like these are lies cause real harm. There will be victims of sexual violence who will come on this site and stumble upon posts here and not speak up because of what you and the other people on this forum say. That's why I'm angry. People who have no clue and live sheltered lives not knowing about the realities of life and have a sunshine and rainbow image of the community. If you or anyone else says crap like this again, you will be countered.
This is extremely depressing. Human trafficking does exist everywhere. Forced marriage of a child is subsumed under child trafficking.

I'm from Scandinavia myself. You make a valid point. In Sweden for example, only 5 times have someone been prosecuted in the last 40 years, which the prosecutor's office themselves admit, due to difficulties of proofs. Thereby are few people being indicted.
Though, the practice of FGM is not an uncommon occurrence here. People can deny all they want, but the reality on the ground proves otherwise.

I should've clarified, that I was referring to FGM being done on people living here, (very uncommon nonetheless). But the actual procedure, takes mostly place abroad.
However, it appears that if you're a resident/citizen here, you'll still be hold liable. The prohibition of the laws extends to FGM, done locally and abroad alike.
